Early Warning Station for flood risk areas and landslides from 2005 till now for monitoring and early warning in flood risk areas and landslides by using the principle of measuring rainfall or water level data to find the relationship possibility between rainfall and events. Floods - Landslides are likely to occur and cause damage, for determine the critical value to use in the warning by using data - hydrological measuring. It is transmitted via GPRS, IP Star or others modern communication systems such as 3G, and store in a database at the central Department of Water Resources (Early Warning Room) Bureau of Research, Development and Hydrology Water Resource Regional Office 1 – 11 by using the collect data to analyze the situation with the application by the Department of Water Resources then alerts and reports over the Internet
For let the regional office is located at the regional water resources office and the public receive the report. For the warning to villagers, Early Warning System will control and command from the central or regional. Central will be able to synchronize alert at all stations but, regional stations will only be able to alert stations which is in responsibility of the Water Resources Office. In case the central and regional cannot communicate with the alarm station, the system at the alarm station will work automatically.
We provide the knowledgeable people who are locally-staffed volunteer will be responsible for monitoring the flood-landslides from the alarm level at Early Warning Station which have green, yellow and red light and sound signal. It will alert the people in the risk area around the station to behave follow this project training. Early Warning will reduce the damage to life and property, and this project let the people truly involve in the prevention, mitigation, and damage from natural disasters on their own.
Early Warning Stations are located in the flood risk areas and landslides or in water source for measuring rainfall in the area or water level in the river, temperature and humidity in the soil. The measurement data in environmental and hydrology at Early Warning Stations will send back to the central station in real time to provide data for analysis of flood risk areas – landslides then alarm alerts to public. There are 2 Early Warning Station Types.
Rain Gauge Station is installed in the sudden flood risk areas - landslides by using measurement rainfall data in area and soil moisture data for analysis flooding - Landslide Opportunities and the alarm covers the warning area and within 5 km. neighboring villages.
Rain Gauge and Water level Monitoring Station is installed for measuring water level in river by setting up around a strong bridge in upstream to alert to downstream village which is 2-3 hours away from the warning station. This station will monitor water level in the river at installing point and analyze the warning from water level and measuring rainfall.
Early Warning Station will measure the data and collect data to the CPU of the RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) for processing then send data through Modem GPRS to GSM/GPRS to central office for analyzing and reporting the warning to public. The warning has 3-level audio signal and 3 light signal: green, yellow and red.
